"My Dog Won't Listen To Me!"

Along with aggressive behavior and separation anxiety, this is one of the three most common complaints that dog owners bring to their first training session. Your dog probably is listening to you. The problem isn't about listening, it's about whether the dog cares about what you are trying to say.

We have explored WHAT we are communicating to our dogs, and now let's explore HOW we can communicate peacefully and effectively to our dogs with the most clarity.

Tone of voice, body language, consistency, speaking "Dog-lish" all matter.

It used to seem like once upon a time dogs were just dogs. We grew up, we had dogs and we didn't even think of enrolling in formal training. But times have changed, and now we know that without training, life can be chaotic and unpredictable with our canine companions.

So... why train? What can we expect from training? What different kinds of training are out there?
